In reality, despite what our Facebook number suggests, we have very few people in our inner circle. We have more than one circle. Each is functional and serves a purpose.
Currently, these circles are ill-defined and unintentional. They have no clear guidelines and no clear purpose. It helps them feel more natural, but also makes them much less effective.
Life journey groups have existed for centuries, guilds, AA meetings, Scouts and a million others have shaped dedicated areas of our lives by connecting us with like-minded individuals sharing a very particular set of ideals. Scarcely do these ideals represent my entire existence, hence the need for multiple life groups.
If lockdown and isolation have given us anything, it is the gift of reorganising our life groups. Circles that educate, support, challenge, expose and stretch us, together, in community.
Don’t miss the opportunity.
