They do not define us.

Not to be mistaken for complacency, attentiveness or absent-mindedness which do. An accident is an accident, a trend is not.

We have grace with accidents and learning curves. Everything else we must treat ruthlessly and without delay. Not doing so amounts to gross negligence. Condoning a culture of poor hygiene, safety standards or inattentiveness starts by treating them as accidents instead of trends.

This is why aviation investigates every accident. It’s the only way to keep trends at bay.
