The question is, is there confusion? A flashlight is more than sufficient when you know where you are going. Seeing the next step on the path is no different irrespective of the time of day.

Not knowing where we are headed is what gets us in trouble. In the daytime, we can scope out our surroundings and attempt to regain our bearings. At night, in the dark, this is much more challenging. It’s imperative that the leader offers strong direction and certainty.

When we don’t, uncertainty filters down. Second-guessing ensures.

A compelling vision for the future creates a unifying vision that presents beacons in every conceivable circumstance. We just need a great leader to point the way.
