encourages us to store more. So much of this is for a rainy day, a what-if. The availability of storage almost justifies our utilisation of it.

Previously, we had only our own cupboard space. Now we have storage units for physical stuff and digital storage for stuff that used to be physical (photo albums). Even when we were constrained by cupboard space, so much of what we stored we rarely if ever used.

This is true more so now than ever before.

Do we really need more space or do we need less stuff?

The rental economy is gaining traction.

Anything you don’t use at least every month would probably be cheaper to rent anyway.
