Usually, we see the forest for the trees. We play the long game. We understand that some battles are worth losing if it secures us the war.
Others determine the outcome of the war. When such a battle is upon us it makes no sense to hold back. We cannot retreat or keep reserves. We cannot implement half measures. We cannot delay or postpone.
On these rare occasions, we give it everything we’ve got. It still might not be enough. If it’s not, it would never have been. These battles require fearless leaders with the ability to spot the magnitude of the situation, and the willingness to do what is necessary.
These rare moments create history. Such moments, rarely play by the rules.
