It’s the discretionary time added by the referee to make up for time lost to injury during the game. We view it as additional time. It’s not.
In life, we have no injury time. No one can stop it or allocate extra. There is no point in faking an injury to score ‘extra time’.
Thankfully, it’s also not a sprint. You have all the time you need. You probably want more. You won’t know until you use it all. Stands to reason that it’s better to use to the fullest what you have instead of spending so much of it trying to get more.
On the bright side, maybe you will make it to the singularity. ‘Immortality’ might not be all it’s cracked up to be.
