Pursuit

Amid our distracted world, it has become quite rare. Focus, the single-minded pursuit of an objective. The dedication of effort and thinking to a particular task. It’s the unpopular sister of multitasking. We prefer the prom queen. She makes us feel valuable and efficient.

Multitasking serves to complete. It helps us to tick boxes.

Focus allows us to accomplish, to design, to solve, to invent.

It takes an effort to get out of the lazy, skimming the surface mode of multitasking into the deep, dedicated thinking of focus.

Focus is hard work. Hard work is rare.
