When we grow our business we want to say yes, no matter what the customer wants. This helps us to grow, discover our market, and refine our business model. It creates positive patterns and learning opportunities. It forces us into innovation.
With limited energy (assets, resources and time) every ‘yes’ is also a ‘no’. When I choose to say yes to one thing, I say no to everything else that could be accomplished with the same energy.
My yes becomes more meaningful when I understand the implied no.
Commitment is complete when I accept the cost of yes and the responsibility in no.
