We all have this idea that networking is going to a mixer with business cards in your pocket. Our success is measured by the number of business cards we managed to distribute during the event. With this as the measure, our approach tends to be all talk and no listen.

We have all had this done to us and it’s pretty annoying.

What if networking was about finding ways to connect people to your network.

Value-based networking is like an incoming tide. As you create value for your network, the tide rises for all boats including yours.

This works best when we listen.

Sales work the same way.
