It is fabled that Alexander the Great would often walk past his troops as they lined up for battle. He would ask their name and encourage them for the fight ahead. On one such occasion the soldier answered in a timid voice, looking down, ‘My name is Alexander.’
Upon hearing this Alexander the Great answered, “Either change your posture or change your name.” Be it myth or truth, it carries a valuable lesson. When we engage challenges our posture determines our approach and our approach determines our outcome.
We should pay attention to our posture, plan it in advance. Once our posture is confident and accurate, our view of the world changes.
It is one of the fundamental concepts in almost every conceivable sport, it is also fundamental in every business and for every entrepreneur.
Change your posture, or change your line of work.
