My dad always says, “It’s good to give. Give away fruits, don’t cut off branches.” This has become a guiding principle for me. We have the privilege to reinvest the fruits of our growth back into the environment that has allowed us to grow.
Share some time, experience, money or resources. Use it to lift up others as you have been lifted up. A rising tide raises all boats.
Never cut off branches. Do not give away the means with which to produce more. Do not forfeit sustainability. Your sustainability is what affords you the opportunity to give in the future. Tend and prune the branches.
Perhaps if we think this way, social upheavals will not tear down the branches of the society they expect to hand out fruits.
