When we discuss multi-million dollar strategic decisions, we usually get an expert to conduct an analysis, present a report and make a decision we believe is well informed.
When we talk about rather insignificant things that everybody understands, the discussions often go on for hours. Everybody has an opinion. We spend more time deciding which coffee to buy than which new country to enter.
Sometimes, what we know can be a hurdle. Sometimes what we don’t know is too much effort to resolve.
It seems the biggest decision factor is what comes easily. It’s hard to investigate what we don’t know. It’s hard to be quiet about what we do.
